Almost Heaven Early Learning Center is a women-owned, small business that offers high quality child care located in the heart of Morgantown, West Virginia. We recognize that each child is unique and comes with their own set of strengths, needs, and interests. We are committed to fostering a love of learning and curiosity in our children, by providing opportunities for them to explore and discover their world.

CLASSROOMS

Infants

6 weeks to 12 months

Infant care will be individualized, ensuring each child's needs are met according to their own schedule. Throughout the day, infants will explore a variety of toys with different textures and sounds, and engage in tummy time on soft furnishings. As infants engage in self-directed play, staff will support each child as they are learning and developing new skills such as sitting, crawling, pulling up, and taking their first steps. In this classroom, you will find books, pull-up bars, mirrors, musical instruments, baskets full of age-appropriate toys, and more!

Toddlers

1 year to 2 years

As toddlers are learning how to talk, walk, climb, run, and explore their world, staff will offer hands-on, age-appropriate activities to support each child's social/emotional, language/literacy, creative expression, cognitive and motor development. We use the Infant/Toddler Environmental Rating Scale (ITERS), WV Infant/Toddler Early Learning Standards Framework, and Creative Curriculum to create an optimal learning environment. Children will engage in free play, sensory play, outdoor exploration, music, art, and more! In our toddler classroom, you will find a sensory table, books, musical instruments, dramatic play materials, and a large variety of age-appropriate toys.

YOUNG

PRESCHOOL

2 years to 4 years

Our young preschool classrooms are designed to create positive learning environments that foster the holistic growth and development of each child. Utilizing research-based curriculum and developmentally appropriate practices, children will engage in a diverse range of activities. This includes sensory/messy play, music and movement, dramatic play, science exploration, creative expression through art, outdoor activities, free choice, and more. In these classrooms, you will find sensory tables, books, puzzles, loose parts, musical instruments, dramatic play materials, and a large variety of manipulative toys. We also follow a consistent daily schedule to provide children with a clear understanding of routines. Children will begin to acquire self-help skills and social-emotional awareness.

Preschool Four's

4 years to 5 years

We understand that preschool is a big year for your child. Our priority is to provide positive experiences that will help children achieve their full potential and prepare them for a successful transition to Kindergarten. Our certified PreK teacher has nine years of experience in public school teaching. Using the Early Childhood Environmental Rating Scale (ECERS), WV PreK Early Learning Standards, and Creative Curriculum, our teachers will provide high-quality care and learning experiences for each child. Children will explore and investigate through learning centers, play-based activities, outdoor exploration, adult and peer interactions, and free choice. In this classroom, you will find a cozy reading area, a sensory and science area, puzzles, games, blocks, dramatic play items, art supplies, and other materials that promote curiosity, problem-solving, and fine motor skills.

Registration Fee

Due to the high demand for child care, there is a $50 non-refundable registration fee due with the registration form. THE FEE WILL BE APPLIED TO YOUR Brightwheel ACCOUNT.

interview/tour

After we receive your registration form and fee, we will contact you via phone to schedule an interview and tour of the facility.

Enrollment Process

admission

Once your child is offered a spot, you will receive an enrollment packet with all required paperwork, supplies needed, and a start date.

waitlist

If you wish to add your child to our waitlist, you must submit the registration form and non-refundable registration fee of $50. Priority will be given to our current families for the first available spot. Spots will then be filled from the earliest to the latest date. You will have seven days to accept or decline.

MEALS

Nutritious meals are provided for older infants, toddlers and preschoolers. This includes breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack. Water is available all day. Families must provide infant formula or breast milk.

Sibling discount

Full-time families will receive a 5% discount on the oldest child's tuition.

BRIGHTWHEEL

Staff can conveniently send you daily updates straight to your phone. Families can expect to receive a variety of updates, including photos, messages, nap duration, and much more. Additionally, Brightwheel serves as a platform for check-in/out procedures and billing invoices.

sTATE ASSISTANCE

We accept subsidy payments through CCRC. Families are responsible for any additional costs.

Discipline

We believe in positive reinforcement. Staff will respond to behaviors in a positive and supportive manner. Disciplinary techniques that we use are gentle reminders, reasoning, and redirection. If necessary, a child may be removed from a situation to have a break or rest.
